Updated: Automatic, the official developer of this plugin removed the footer credit in the recent update already, you’re welcome to read still anyways:
Since WordPress is open-source, and DIY I think the inscription “Powered by WordPress” or other footer credit should depend plainly on user choices and preference. So today I’m going to take you through the process of removing the footer credit on your AMP page.
Here is a picture of one of our websites.
So we are going to remove the “Powered by WordPress” inscription.
To get started, login to your WordPress dashboard and click on plugin. Under plugin drop down click on Editor.
It’d take you to a page, select AMP
Click on Templates
Click on footer.php
Look thoroughly and edit the marked inscriptions only, you can decide to clean the entire inscription or better still edit it to suit your choice
Just edit the Powered by %s the %s represent WordPress please do not exceed the box.
If you wish to link your editing to your webpage also edit the WordPress.org link as shown on the screenshot to your preferred choice.
Then click on UPDATE FILE
Here is the website after it has been edited
